Team Fat Cyclist - Fighting Like Susan at the Seattle Livestrong starting line

My brother Scott is joining me this October in Austin, Texas for the Ride For the Roses and final LiveSTRONG Challenge event. I look forward to that. It will be our celebration of his survival (5 years cancer-free!) from his bout with cancer.

We (above, in orange raincoats) rode our bicycles in Seattle for the LiveSTRONG Challenge on June 21st. Because the battle against cancer is best fought together, we rode as members of the now famous and award-winning LiveSTRONG fundraising team - Team Fat Cyclist: Fighting Like Susan.

Not only did Team Fatty win fund raising and participation awards, but I was named as the top individual fund raiser. Only it was Scott, directing his donors to this fund raising headquarters, who did the lions’ share of the fund raising. I had him accept the award. So, in Austin I will ride in honor of and with Scott, now a 5-year cancer survivor!

We both ride in memory of our cousin David Butterfield. We are also riding in honor of our sister, Carol Hughey, who was recently diagnosed with a melanoma.

Celebrate Scott's 5th cancer-free anniversary. Support us and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Honor Elden (Fatty) Nelson and Susan in their battle against her cancer. Do all three by donating generously!
