Unite with me in the cancer fight and support my fundraising efforts

The Lance Armstrong Foundation unites people to fight cancer, believing that unity is strength, knowledge is power, and attitude is everything. Through the dollars and awareness that we raise, we can inspire and empower individuals, and we can make life better for the millions of people across the globe fighting cancer today.

It has been over two years since my treatment for testicular cancer. Though my wife, Lexi, has always considered me her survivor, with this type of cancer, two years means I am now officially cured. I am so fortunate and one of an ever-increasing number of people surviving cancer each year. This experience jump-started a personal effort to be more active like when I was a kid in Puyallup. Inspired by the accomplishments of Lance Armstrong and the prompting of my cousin, Raymond, I finally bought a road bike a year ago. As you may already know, my interest in cycling has really taken off since then. I started by commuting to work on my bike and joining some easy group rides around Seattle. But this Spring has been different. I started training for two challenging events: The LIVESTRONG Challenge Century on June 21st and The Seattle to Portland Classic Double Century on July 11-12.

After cancer, I decided riding the 200 miles between my home of Seattle and the city of Portland would be something I wanted to accomplish in my life. To help me prepare for this and to honor my inspiration, I am first riding in the LIVESTRONG Challenge and fundraising for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The LAF is all about helping cancer patients become the best cancer survivors they can be. Just like overcoming the challenges of cancer makes you a stronger person, I know that if I can climb over the awesome obstacles of Tiger and Cougar Mountains during the course of the 100 mile LIVESTRONG Challenge, then I will be ready for even greater challenges like the STP.

Please support me as I make a difference in the cancer fight through my participation in the LIVESTRONG Challenge. Thank you!
